Grass Seeding / Contravating
Grass seeding / overseeding / contravating are all the same thing, and is the method of spreading new grass seed to fill in areas of thinning turf. It improves the density and verdancy of the grass. This occurs during the growing season – April to September in the UK. This is a routine part of golf course management in which grass seed is spread on top of the existing grass to promote new growth.
Our contravation machine is a tractor mounted seeder with a variable seeding rate for sports fields, golf courses and amenity areas. The seed is sown in a precision method and does not need a top dressing to germinate.
