Using 1/2" or 3/4" solid tines to de-compact the surface of the green. This vertidraining allows water to drain freely through the upper layers of the soil, preventing water to lie in on the surface.
Vertidraining allows the exchange of gases in the soil, letting carbon dioxide out and oxygen in. It encourages healthy, deep root growth and aerates the soil, whilst relieving compaction.
It also improves the surface of the green, promoting good soil structure and quicker drying surfaces along with improved absorption of water from the surface into the drainage system.
Vertidraining reduces the problems that face greens which are compacted after long periods of continuous use.
